For people from most countries, the easiest way to get to Finland is by air.  Direct flights to Helsinki are available from many European ports  via a number of national carriers or low cost carriers depending on your point of departure.

Those travelling from the Middle East and major Asian cities such as Singapore, Tokyo, Hong Kong,  Bangkok, Shanghai, Beijing and Delhi also have several direct flight options from either local airlines or the Finnish national airline Finnair.  Visitors from the Pacific have one stop options through a number of Asian or Middle East ports.

Visitors from Africa are well served through one stop flights via major European or Middle East ports.

Travellers from the Americas will have the option of direct or one stop flights with connections either in the US or Europe depending on your point of departure.

Visa requirements

For most people there is no need for a visa to enter Finland. To check if you are able to enter Finland with no visa, go here. Note that even if you don't need a visa you will need at least 6 months remaining on your passport, before it expires. It's advisable to do that check now so you have plenty of time if you do need to renew your passport or request a letter of invitation.
